Taiwan's largest foreign bank turned one paperless decision into light for vulnerable families
DBS Bank (Taiwan) and DOMI ran 'Power to Change' — encouraging customers to switch to e-billing to cut Scope-3 paper-bill emissions, then channelling the savings into lighting upgrades for low-income families. Head of Digital Banking Happy Ho was initially hesitant to change existing processes, then won over by a genuine three-way win: net-zero progress, lower cost, and visible social impact.
- US$2M/yr
- operational costs saved (as of 2023)
- 150K+
- switched to e-billing
- 172 families

Bringing energy poverty into the middle of Taiwan's flagship IKEA store
IKEA Taiwan and DOMI built a 20 m² 'Dark Experience Room' — a 1:1 recreation of an energy-poor home, wired with a real family's original electrical panel — so shoppers could feel energy poverty first-hand. Over a 17-day in-store campaign, signing the petition earned customers IKEA ice cream or meatballs — and became 8,000 signatures plus 2,000 light bulbs donated to vulnerable households.
