Reflections on DOMI Earth's Family Tree Party: Cultivating Environmental Awareness from an Early Age

Written by Campus Energy Ambassador, Bo-Kai Xiao

I was fortunate to be invited by DOMI Earth to their Tree Party Event. Initially, I imagined tree planting as a simple and relaxing activity, but the event turned out to be much more than just planting trees. Each child was fully engaged, keenly listening to stories from the "Energy Monster" and eagerly participating in answering questions and completing subsequent tasks. As a parent, seeing the joy on the children's faces brought a smile to my own.

Understanding the Importance of Environmental Conservation Through Tree Planting

The activities were light and easy, yet engaging enough to convey the importance of environmental maintenance to the young attendees, providing an excellent start to their journey of ecological awareness. The children, innocent and uninhibited, participated alongside their parents, serving as a reminder to all that we should continue to treat our environment with kindness, regardless of our age.

Nurturing Saplings and Children Requires Timely Care and Protection

During the tree-planting demonstration, the children's active participation was astounding. Some already knew the entire process, showcasing their love for nature and interest in tree planting. After hearing lively explanations from professionals, it became clear that both overly high and low soil levels could adversely affect the saplings. This parallels the idea that both excessive and insufficient care can harm a child's development. What we need to provide is just the right environment for growth and timely assistance to ensure they can grow up naturally and stably, just like the trees.

This event not only involved planting trees but also instilling an environmentally friendly lifestyle. By participating in such meaningful activities, we plant the seeds of sustainability in our children, ensuring they grow up with an appreciation for and commitment to protecting our planet.
