It’s exciting to note that this year’s conference saw over 500 B Corporations publicly committing to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030, 20 years ahead of the target set by the Paris Agreement for 2050. As Taiwan’s first B Corporation, we are proud to be part of this movement.

As the familiar term "climate change" has rapidly shifted to "climate emergency," and "global warming" is now referred to as "global heating," we know that the Earth cannot wait any longer. As a B Corp, we cannot rely solely on government action—we must join forces to accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Over 500 B Corporations worldwide are committing to climate action, with most focusing on reducing the energy consumption associated with the production and sale of their goods. These businesses are working to lower their operational carbon emissions and the carbon footprints of their products, all in an effort to keep the global temperature increase within the critical 1.5°C threshold. This is the last warning line for our planet—if we exceed it, survival could become impossible.

Through collective efforts, B Corporations are not just reducing emissions within their own operations but also setting industry standards for sustainable practices. The goal is clear: mitigate climate change and ensure a livable future for all. It’s a crucial time for businesses to step up and take responsibility in the global fight against climate change.
